PPC misread appeal email. 56 days nearing, hold off?

Hi

Received a PCN on 21 December. Sent an appeal by email at week 3 using the standard template in the newbie thread. PPC is an IPC member.

The PPC's agent replied on 26 January that their reference number is not in my email so they can't trace and respond etc. However the 10-digit PCN number is in both the subject and body of the email which is attached to their own email! I also included the car's registration plate. Apart from the PCN number I can't see what reference number they need.

Day 56 is rapidly approaching and I haven't received anything in the mail yet. Any thoughts as to whether it's best to respond back to the email reiterating that the PCN # is in their own email, or try and ride out to day 56. As I understand it if they don't send the NTK by then, an appeal is a lot more open and shut.

Cheers

most PPC,s reject appeals anyway, ESPECIALLY those in the IPC , so dont get your hopes up (and 80% of IPC appeals fail too, so again , its a farce)

wait for an NTK to the keeper, if that doesnt arrive by day 56 then wait it out for up to 6 years , keeping copies of all paperwork and emails etc
  • Thanks both.

Yes the ticket was placed on car.

I've gone back and checked the physical ticket and there is literally no number or reference other than the 10digit 'PCNxxxxxxxxxx'. It was definitely in my email because it's in their own response. I was meticulous in making sure it was correct.

I know it goes against all forum concensus and is 'weak' but I have to admit I'm slightly nervous about putting it out of mind if nothing comes by day 56 then getting a CCJ 3 or 4 years down the line when I've moved etc and not being able get a mortgage.
  • PCNxxxxxxxxxx is the Parking Charge Number

Can you clarify what you mean by the bit I have bolded? You sent your email apoeal to the PPC but was it not them who replied?
  • Apologies I wasn't particularly clear. The PCN was issued by the 'creditor' IPC member but all the appeal details/addresses etc were for one of these pseudo-collection service firms-!!!-debt collectors. So my appeal email went to them and naturally the response. (Trying not to name either firm by name in case they trawl the web or this forum, however unlikely.)
  • and the name of the company , was it PCS?

and the name of the parking co?
  • County Parking Enforcement Agency and yes, PCS.
  • fear not http://www.bmpa.eu/companydata/County_Parking_Enforcement_Agency.html

your appeal to PCS was worthless , PCS trades as your next letter will show DR+ (check addresses) , apart from giving grief to the COOP , forget it , you will get "lots" of debt collectors letters some with scary red ink threateng to take your child (what child , picci says you have none?)

ONLY if you get a letter before claim from the parking Co or a SOLISITOR hired by them , return

PCS have a reference in their letters (they are part of DRPlus who also quote a 'ref' which is different from the PCN number).

Really no idea why you are panicking, even if they'd read the appeal they would turn it down so you were always going to be in this position.

What on earth makes you think you will be the first with a CPEA court claim?! Ever!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
