Hi
We have recently moved out of a rented accommodation, The final inspection happened and the landlord was happy, and we got our full deposit back and I thought I was done with the place.
However a week and a half after final inspection has been signed off I get a call from the estate agents asking where some units are.. I advise they have been thrown away. 2 hours (ish) later I get another call saying the landlord isn't happy that we through the units away,
I did have an email saying anything she left, she left for us and we could dispose of without approval.
now I have changed emails so I don't have a copy any more
I would just like to know where I stand. surely they carnt charge me for this as the landlord and estate agent already signed off the final inspection and returned the bond?
any advice would be appreciated

What kind of units? Units to me means kitchen units and I wouldn't expect those to be disposed of.0

Yeah it really depends what you're talking about chucking ...0

Then I suggest you forward the email suggesting they were yours to do as you pleased with, and say 'I have done as you said.'
Edit: I didn't see where it said you've lost the email. I then suggest you email reminding them of the email saying what you were told and saying the items were thrown away as not required0 -
I the landlord has done an inspection, was happy, and has already returned the deposit - i would just politely tell the estate agents of the agreement you had regarding the furniture, and be done with it.0

Apart from the items that you say you disposed of was there any other furniture in the house?0
-
Were those items included on the inventory?
My guess is, that they were not - if they were they would have been noted as not seen at the check out & flagged up at that point prior to your deposit being returned to you.
If they were included, then it needs to be flagged back to whomever did the check out, and whomever dealt with the deposit return.
Generally, missing items are brought up prior to the deposit being returned!0
