Flywheel - 425
clutch - 325

Your mechanic is stiffing you - LUK (excellent brand) dual mass flywheel AND clutch kit £369.95 delivered.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-118D-120D-2-0-D-Luk-Dual-Mass-Flywheel-Clutch-Kit-Set-1-Series-E87-06-12-/130989855180?fits=Car+Make%3ABMW%7CCars+Year%3A2008%7CCars+Type%3A120d&hash=item1e7f9a91cc:g:4uEAAOSweuxWTG~V
Order up that kit, take the £250 from the dealer, and have your mechanic fit it for £250.
You've then a brand new LUK clutch AND dual mass flywheel fitted for £369.95.
Not ideal, but not the end of the world...0 -
UPDATE FROM DEALER - they have just offered me £500 compensation. they have a local garage that would charge £650 to supply and fit both clutch and flywheel but its a 30 mile trip on the motorway.0

I'd take them up on it.
You don't want to be supplying your own clutch and flywheel as if they fail prematurely you will have no comeback.
Supplied and fitted £150 plus possibly £60 recovery sounds a bloody good deal to me. Or tow it0 -

Wouldnt annoy me in the least - given you'd have an extra £200 in your pocket - BUT if you must get the mechanic to supply the parts, ask him to price a KIT, not the parts individually. They work out much cheaper - hes probably pricing for the parts separately, but knows he can get the kit cheaper.0
