Just wanted to say, thanks to MSE (and the Resolver complaints website) that I managed to get HBOS to refund 6 years of Ultimate Reward Account fees.

Over £1200 refunded. Sent the letter generated by the Resolver website on Monday. By Wednesday afternoon the money is being transferred back to me.

I had never used their home, mobile or holiday insurance that came bundled with the account. Two phone calls later (approx 10 minutes each) is all it took.

The reason I signed up was, at the time I 'upgraded' my account, it was stated it was the only way I could get an overdraft facility. I naively fell for this at the time but now know this is untrue.

The bank admitted I was miss sold the packaged bank account thus refunding me the full amount of fees, interest and a £25 sorry payment.
