Can I do a BT for more than the balance of a credit card?

In the past I've had credit cards go into credit, based upon refunds being processed to the card. I've then been able to call the credit card company and ask for a credit refund to be processed to my bank account.

I'm just wondering if I could do the same with a BT.

e.g.
Credit card 1 - £1,000 outstanding

Do a BT for £1,500

Credit card 1 now = £500 in credit

Me ask credit card 1 company to refund credit balance to bank account

?

    No.

Quite apart from anything else, carrying a credit on a card will go against most cards' T&Cs.

It's been done before for stoozing purposes and it's something I'm considering doing.

Why not just apply for a money transfer card instead. If accepted you can have the money in your current account and pay off the credit card and still have the extra money if needed .
this is my time to take charge and make life better :j

Yes, subject to the terms and conditions of credit card 1 - the one with the outstanding balance.

Check the stoozing forum and look for "mule" cards. If card 1 is one of those you're in with a chance. Worst thing that can happen is that your BT will be returned and you'll lose the BT fee.
