Claiming road tax back

Hello I have road tax until January on my old car. I wanted to know if I can claim it back, and if so how? - also, i don't suppose it's possible just to transfer it to my new car is it?????

No you can't transfer it to another vehicle. Tells you on the back of the disc how to get a refund, basically just take the disc down to the PO or DVLA


edit- forgot to say if you're selling your old car you may aswell leave the tax on it, will help with the sale. Only worthwhile cashing in if you're scrapping it

the form is downloadable from the DVLA site
you get a cheque for all unused complete months
