I think she has given authority. So, you have two opinions.

I suspect HYC have taken many people to court who try not to pay them. So, you could wait and see what a judge decides.
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.
  • Spoke to nram and they said if there areally two signatures on the form they world investigate all finance joint or otherwise.
It seems very unorthodox and misleading to add that information to the form and then for them and another company without any contact or consent from the second applican't to provide sensitive informaton to hyc.
  • I don't have finances to fight this in court unfortunately. It was a matter more of privacy than anything. I expected my finances to be fully investigated but not hers.

That would be the expectation. Its the same for me as a financial adviser. If we have two signatures on the form on an LOA, then it would include sole and joint policies. NRAM are correct in how they dealt with it.

The top bit is not well worded. However, the terms in section 4 which both parties are agreeing to, it is pretty clear. There is only one place that is going to see if they are right or not and that is in court. We have our opinions on this website but they are not worth a penny. The only one that matters would be the judge who rules on the case.

''Most CMCs’ contracts will say that they are going to look into all
of your accounts and, if you have joint accounts, they may look at
these too. Be aware of which accounts the CMC are going to work
on and let them know if there are any accounts you do not need
their help with, put this in writing (an email is fine).''
