Bathroom spotlights problem

We have four bathroom spotlights and a couple of years ago one kept going out, i.e. it would be on for a few weeks and then not come on for a few weeks, and then come back on etc, so not a problem with the bulb.
Now the next bulb along is doing the same thing. First time around i got an electrician out and it was a 5 minute job, he pulled the bulb down and changed something on the wiring but I cannot for the life of me remember what, but I am wondering if its not something I could do myself.
From my description can anyone say what the problem might be?

I'm a greenfield sight for sore eyes, and sore eyes are just needing the light, the shapes, and the shadows of the space we share, before it splits into Thin Air.

Most likely a bad connection, and possibly a poorly-sealed unit.0

What you appear to be descibing are 12v light powered by tranformer
Common fault is holder gets corroded. Pull light out held by a clip move bulb around to clean. New holders from electrial dealer from about £1 easy to fit 2 wires to transtormer. The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0
