Anybody won "It's on us"?

I know that Lloyds and Halifax both have an offer called "It's on us" where, each day, a number of debit card transactions are selected to be refunded. I believe there is a minimum refund, too - if you have a transaction of less than £5 selected, the bank will give you £5 back anyway.

Given the drop in credit card cashback rates, I was wondering if it would be sensible to use my eligible debit card instead, especially for small transactions.

I wonder - has anyone actually won using these offers?

Also, does one bank offer a better chance of winner than the others? Each has a set number of transactions per day which are refunded, and will have different number of customers, so I wonder if the odds differ much?

Thanks!

I've had it activated for quite a number of years now and i've never won it.
    Not surprised in the slightest...
  • Of course people have won.

But the odds of winning are low. It's not a perk I'd be making central to my decision making around which bank account to open or retain.

I have accounts with both BoS and Lloyds already, so it is not new accounts I need, I am just trying to decide how to direct my low-value transactions for best effect, and I was thinking that a chance of something from using Debit Card was maybe better than getting 0.5% of low-value transactions on my Credit Card.

I know, statistically, *someone* has won, I was wondering if anyone here had!

Also had it activated for quite a while, nothing here. I can't find any mention of it for Halifax though, I thought was only a Lloyds 'perk'.

I 'won' £20 back last March.

According to their website here: http://www.lloydsbank.com/online-banking/internet-banking/itsonus.asp They pay back up to £500 for 1,000 customers each week for purchases on your Lloyds Bank Debit or Credit card.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

Its not a Halifax offer, it maybe only for lloyds customers only, Halifax do have cash back extra which gives you cashback for spending on your card and certain retailers, which is also being advertised currently on TV with Scooby Do...

I don't think it's available with Halifax, though I had it activated on my Lloyds account for a year or two and never won it. I chose the account specifically for that offer and the cash back but the odds of getting anything back are next to nothing

Yes. £97.00 on Lloyds credit card. By chance it was in respect of a purchase with a 10% cashback offer as well so actually got 110% of the purchase price back.

A rare example of actually giving 110%.
