Complaining to Ombudsman - Yorkshire Bank

Hello everyone, would appreciate some advice here.
I had PPI on a mortgate with Yorkshire Bank about 14 years ago - at the time I had taken out an additional mortgage advance for debt consolidation as had had a period of unemployment and was trying to get back on my feet after securing a job. The mortgate advisor knew this and yet I still ended up with PPI.
After 8 months, I cancelled the PPI - it was simply a case that the cost of the PPI was about a week's worth of food bill at the time - so of course the food came first...
In 2014, I complained to YB about the PPI and they refused it. I then moved house, fell pregnant and didnt go to the Ombudsman as had other things to think about. Out of the blue in December 16, I got a letter from YB telling me that they might have unfairly not considered my case properly. I filled in the forms and never heard; I then received a settlement figure of the 8 months payments plus interest etc.
After this, I appealed and submitted more evidence as to my financial state at the time and that the Mortgage advisor clearly as aware it was a debt consolidation mortgage release (it says this on the original fact finding thing at YB). YB have now said that they have upheld the decision but will not take into account other circumstances such as those I describe.
Is it worth complaining to the Ombudsman ??

Complain about what. You have been given a refund of all the PPI you paid plus interest so what more are you expecting to receive?0

As you have received your redress, there is nothing else to complain about. You won. you got your money back plus interest.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

PPI redress is prescribed, it is not somehow negotiable. You have received a refund plus interest. This is all you will ever receive, regardless of whether you refer your "case" to the Ombudsman.the_wheels_have_fallen_of wrote: »I then received a settlement figure of the 8 months payments plus interest
Do note that your complaint was (ultimately) successful, so you really have nothing further to complain about.0 -
OK - many thanks for the responses0
