i have been going through my insurances for life buildings etc and came across insurances from my water supplier covering me for
1, water supply pipe cover
2,electrical emergency breakdown cover
3,plumming and drainage cover
they are costing me around £150.00 a year.
do i really need them as i cant really afford them,
i have checked my buildings insurance and it doesnt really say much so i am going to call them and ask them to explain my cover in plain english.
any help will be appreciated.
thank you

If you really can't afford them then no they are not worth having.
In general it's cheaper to "self insure".
Perhaps put some money away in a seperate account for "household maintenance" instead. Overall it's likely to be cheaper unless you are unlucky.0
