    That would be for the court to decide if it went that far.

    I have no idea.
    Anyway, a county court judgement does not set a precedent.
    As all the wiring is still in place, the supplier could argue that replacing the light units does not require an expensive electrician.
    Indeed he could, but there are an awful lot of people out there who would not be able to do this relatively simple job for any number of reasons.
    Maybe a handyman could/should do it, perhaps the seller could send their own man out.

    I'm only pointing out what the law says, and as someone pointed out earlier, a line has to be drawn somewhere.

    Thanks all. I will look into these advice on claiming back costs for the electrician. I'm not confident enough to do it myself so would not take risks hence my asking the electrician to do it!
