Before panicking things might not be as bad as you think - people get 28 days holiday, plus odd medical days, carshare days, working offsite, later shifts, etc. Maybe see how it is in practice first, it may be that instead of charging 2% of salary to guarantee your space (which will be unused some days), they can do it for 1.25% with contention, and save you money overall

It's not my first day. It's been since Jan 7th, people started coming back to work. My office doesn't do shifts. Just 10-4 everyone should be in.

It was 1% and now they made it to 1.25%. so they increased and started issuing more permits.

Perhaps the question should have been more pointed: are you finding it difficult to get a space? It's certainly the case where I work that there are more permits than spaces but when I was driving there (I don't any more) I never failed to find a space somewhere.

It's not unusual to sell more than is available because all the spaces are never usually taken at once. Councils have been selling more residential spaces than available for years now.

You can always cancel and make you're own arrangements or suck it up and see it's not a problem after all.

If you earn £20k pa then that equates to an annual parking charge of £250 - that's around £1 per day. Can you get parking elsewhere cheaper than that? I know that would get you half an hour in my town centre.

Have you had problems finding a space.
