Luckily they do not know or even suspect this so I think I'm ok!0

Well this company don't seem to know much about the DPA. I sent a template letter to them (from government website) and they are sill trying to charge me £5 per payslip and an extra £50 for any other data they hold on me.
They seem a little annoyed at my further explanation re £10 max, and my request for the name of their data controller, and have copied me into an email to my old finance director asking him to deal with me as they don't speak to employees!0 -
You are right.
An org cannot charge unreasonable amounts for supplying data about yourself.
Although nothing surprises me these days. I've heard of medical receptionists (we all know their reputation) demanding £100+ for GP notes, when they have to be provided by law and the fee is capped.
[It seems to be a particular problem in the public sector - some orgs seem to rely on the law (snooping in bins or sending demands for council tax arrears of petty amounts eg £12), but routinely failing to comply with statutory duties to eg to give 21 days' notice re planning appns or comply with the DPA. Indeed a BBC2 docu said that Councils are the worst at complying with SARs]Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.0 -

Have you checked they are registered with the ICO?0 -
Have you checked your personal tax account on gov.uk, this should show details of the salary payments your employer has been making to you.
Maybe only for last year or two and possibly not in sufficient detail for what you need but probably worth a look.0 -

I hadn't, but I have today and they are, however the data controller is just listed as the company name, not an individual.Dazed_and_confused wrote: »Have you checked your personal tax account on gov.uk, this should show details of the salary payments your employer has been making to you.

I wasn't aware of this, and will look into it, thanks for the suggestion. However that shouldn't mean they can refuse to send me the info themselves, so may still pursue from them
EDIT: I have signed up to my personal tax account on the HM revenues site but cannot see broken down monthly payments. Is that available somewhere or is it just total figures etc.?
EDIT2: What is the process to follow if a company refuses to respond to a subject access request?
EDIT3: Are they allowed to copy in my previous company to my request or is that confidential?0
