Hi, Can anyone tell me the best place to invest a lump sum for a period for the best interest, UK or France, bearing in mind the interest rate and tax differences. I live in France.

Try Bradford & Bingley IoM:

6.35% currently; usual EUSTD disclosure rules, and as you know you have to declare worldwide income on the French tax return you complete every May.0 -
I guess you mean save not invest? You will get slightly better rates in £UK. However, if you live in France, you may think it best to save in euros and avoid currency fluctuations."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
