Subsidence Work Carried out and Selling Home

We are in the process of selling our home.
We had a bay window that showed signs of subsidence approx 3 years ago. We contacted our house insurance who arrange it to be monitored for 9 months and reports sent in. It was discovered that there was minimal movement and the insurance company suggested we accept the payment out (less a huge excess) and get the work done that they suggested.
We did this with a local builder (who unfortunately is no longer trading) and all was good.
When we filled in the Property Info form we declared this and the buyers solicitors requested a Certifiacte of Conformity. Now we had never heard of this, never been told of insurance company to get one so we didn't have one. This caused problems. After much back and forth emails our solicator arranged a Indemnity Insurance for £75,000 to cover this but again this wasnt really what they wanted and shortly after the buyer pulled out (after 6 months!!)
So now we are left wondered if this will always cause problems. We have a new buyer and think that this may be an issue again.
Can anyone give us any advice please? I wanted to just not declare it but then know this could lead to being sued down the line. Maddening thing is the people we bought it off did not tell us either!
thanks
