Wife had someone reverse in to the side of her car on the 3rd Jan. We contacted the third party insurer directly and next day took car to be assessed at there approved repairer. Car booked in a week later and repair took about about a week. We took an enterprise hire car which was provided via third party insurer (esure) who were very good in sorting stuff out.

Damage was just minor dents in front and back off side doors.

Your damage may be worse or you may find the claims company are dragging there feet to make more money off the credit hire car your in (if you are in one). That's why I prefer to deal with third party directly. Hope yours gets repaired soon!

    Cheers

Other people's experiences are irrelevant. Some cases settle quickly, other take a much longer period of time. There will be a reason why your case has not been dealt with yet, but you'll need to enquire with the accident management company as to why that is.

The two claims I have experience of were settled in 1) 2 weeks and 2) 18 months.

Feel free to use the average of those if it'll help.

Have you tried contacting the insurer directly?

Well, there's your reason. That's not an uncommon reason for these things taking longer than they perhaps should.

That is not advisable. The OP will have signed a contract with the accident management company, and contacting the insurer directly may well put the OP in breach of that contract. As frustrating as it is when these things drag on, the OP ultimately has representatives acting for them, and should leave to it those representatives to get things sorted.
