in Credit cards
Evening all - new user, be gentle!
I'm close to paying off my Virgin Money credit card, which has a £6k credit limit, which still has 8 months 0% left on it.
I was going to clear it, close it and then apply for a new card elsewhere to hopefully get a similar credit limit (as got a holiday to pay off and a long 0% offer would be great plus leaves £3k for other spending!)
Applied for a Sainsbury's card on Saturday with 27 months 0% purchases and BT but was only given £3k limit which only covers the holiday. Rang the next morning to immediately cancel as this wasn't what I was hoping for. My incomings have increased and outgoings decreased since taking the Virgin card out.
I am concerned I've shot myself in the foot now though with cancelling the card immediately - is this the case?
Also, and I understand it's normally on individual basis, but it there a card company that typically offer bigger credit card limits?
Thanks in advance!

It would have been smarter to keep it. But what's done is done.
MBNA tend to be generous, but that's not to say they will accept you.0 -
Am I best leaving it a while before applying for another card?0

One more application should be fine, then leave it for a few months before making another.0
