CO household income info question

Options
hello all,

just after a bit advice on my cap one card, its my sole name and it has been frozen for a while due to disability causing a drop in income i have the option to renew the freeze or set up a payment plan and as im now in a financially slightly better place i want to set up a payment plan to start chipping away at it.

so im filling in the income and expenditure forms and its based on household income which is fine, the obviously need proof of my benefit income again not an issue.

however they want a copy of his tax return and three months banks statements as he is self employed and whilst he has no problem disclosing his income hes not happy about them holding such sensitive information about him for an account that is not his nor is he named on, it has nothing to do with him as his cc has nothing to with me.

he thinks it is perfectly reasonable to refuse to supply this info, and feels quite strongly about it as many years ago he had a card with them and had no end of problems with them messing up details and statements. so obviously wants nothing to do with them.

so i guess im asking if he has the right to refuse and what complications might it cause for me.

any advice is much welcomed,
thanks in advance
tink

I don't think it is at all reasonable for Capital One to be requesting copies of tax returns, bank statements etc from an individual who is NOT their customer, has no credit agreement/debt with them and could not legally be held liable for the cardholders debt anyway.
Tell Capital One that 'he' (your husband I assume?) declines to provide the information requested.
