Hi there, I have a £5.00 note with AA02 - can anyone tell me if this is worth more than £5.00 please and if so where to sell it? I'm saving for my wedding at the moment and could really do with every extra penny :) Thanks!

As Haljordan says above, it's worth what someone will give you for it. eBay is a very wide audience. Don't forget to set a reserve at £5 plus whatever it will cost to post, you don't want to make a loss.

Minimum reserve on Ebay is £50.

You can set any starting price.

I listed an AK47 serial number on E-Bay a few months back, got a whopping... £9.50 for it!

I think the bubble has burst after the initial flurry of silly money being paid, speculators continue to list in hope of catching a mug, but there are just too many of these 'special' serial numbers in circulation now. Whoever paid £80K or whatever it was for an AK47 must feel pretty silly now.

I currently have 2 AA0 listed (with consecutive serials, in fact) but there's not been much interest yet.

  • Hi,

I'll give you a new 2016 £ coin for it, cash.
