Balance Transfer Credit Limit Issue

Hi - new to site.

I have just used the balance transfer tool.
In the application I stated the balance to transfer was £3506.
It went through the checks, accepted the application and opened an account with Barclaycard.
Only then did it say that the credit limit was £260 so the transfer could not be done.

I now seem to have signed up to a credit card that is of no use to me.

Any suggestions welcome.

A card giving only a £260 limit suggests a very poor credit history, what card did you apply for ? You are free to cancel the card but you really need to look at your credit files.

Transfer as much as you can to the Barclaycard. Probably around £250.

Credit rating is very good - bit of a mystery.

Ignore the rating. What do your files show? Especially current debts, limits and income.

Was it a Barclaycard Initial rather than a Barclaycard?? HSBC and Tesco were doing 0% balance transfers.
