Might sound silly but I was surprised when I handed the house keys back that there were no questions, no forms to sign etc. So I'm wondering how my deposit comes back? Its with the tenancy deposit scheme.

What does your tenancy agreement say on the matter?0

I can't find it... Stupid I know but the new house is upside down. Nobody has asked for my forwarding address. I paid by bank transfer or debit card, I can't even remember that. I'm guessing the agents contact me with the result of the check out inspection then maybe something happens?! Just wondered what's happened to others.0

In general they'll do a check out, send to LL, who'll advise whether to release deposit or make a claim. You then either accept or reject.
Phone them and ask if you want to be sure.0 -
have you checked the procedure with the relevant deposit protection scheme?0

I don't think you can get the deposit back without a forwarding address. Did you take photos of the property before you left? Get a receipt for the keys? Meter readings?0

I'd be very surprised if the LL doesn't find something to moan about, she seems that sort. Found it weird that the agents were so casual. The check out inspection thing was done Saturday so I guess its early days.0
