of course it's down to the individual and how fast the person can absorb it all, but i would much prefer to be in the hands of very good instructors. i have been with instructors before who i thought were just after my money.
i will have a look a bit more into it all and then decide, but i do believe the intensive is best suited for me. thanks for all your advice guys, really appreciate it.
Be wary of national companies like 5Day. I would see about some 2 hour lessons before going into intensive.0 -
I passed my test just before I was 28. I had 6 months of 2hour weekly lessons. Towards the end I practiced a few extra hours at the weekend in my own car.
I had driving lessons when I was 18 but I ran out of money before I could finish up and do my test.
I felt I struggled a bit an older driver, and I felt quite nervous which hindered things for a while.
Passed first time with a few minors.
It's definitely a worth while skill to learn and it's made life much easier.0 -

An older driver at 28? I passed at the first attempt at the grand old age of 42 with 5 minors! I did 4 weeks of 2 hours once a week and then did 45 hours on an intensive course over 9 days. I'm a 'crammer' I sat all my exams and coursework at school and university in this way so it suited me. Its not for everyone.0
