swalec gas pre payment on wrong tarriff

I've been Money Tipped!
sorry if already posted,but has anyone had a letter from swalec to say their gas pre pay meter has been on the wrong tarriff so you may have overpaid?i had this letter and it says any over payment will be sent to me after they have looked into it.just wondering if anyone has actually received any refund or further letters?thanks

  • I had something similar a couple of years back with British Gas, received a check for about £120.


    Maybe call them also, to see if they have now rectified the problem!

    You can see the tariffs these meters are set at by pressing blue button (electric ) and red button ( gas ) , and the weekly charge also .
    On the radio today with Martin Lewis, a caller was complaining about a large rise in daily standing charges on EDF prepayment meters with a small tariff reduction.It was quite a hike and not good for the low user.Martin advised switching supplier.

    the letter that came explained how to check the taffiff as apparently a message had been sent to my meter to alter it correctly.i'm not on pre pay because of debt,i chose to have them put in so i didnt get in to debt.i just asked to see if anyone else had had same letter as no one i know has.i'm not a low user either,detatched house,4 sons over 18 a 6 year old and me.thanks for your reply,i have checked and swalec seems best for me at the moment.
