Hyundai i10 headlamp adjustment
I have a March 2011 Hyundai i10 bought from new and have noticed that sometimes the headlamps adjust themselves and after research on the internet that it is a faulty headlamp adjustment switch which should have been replaced for free at a service.
However, after the services that I had included when I bought the car (3 years) ran out, I have had it serviced at a local garage as they were cheaper and where I bought the car was a 60 mile round trip from my home.
It will be due its service and MOT in March so should I book a service and MOT with the original garage and hope they change the switch (I will of course mention it is faulty when I book the service and MOT) or should the garage replace it anyway without a service?

If there was an official recall for the switch then you should be able to get it replaced for free anytime (why else would you say 'it should have been replaced for free?), not just at a service.
There's a thread about it here:

Don't 'hope' they will change the switch, insist that they do.0 -
There are no i10 recalls showing on the VOSA/GOV.UK database, (but there are some frightening ones for the rest of hyundai: they catch fire, suspension collapses, steering fails, brakes come on by themselves......)
https://www.gov.uk/check-if-a-vehicle-has-been-recalled
You may find that there is a service bulletin. They usually start "In case of repeated customer complaint.........." and apply while in warranty.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

The headlamp adjustment problem is a known fault on the earlier i10, and a dealer should fix it with no charge.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0
