what advice on cards for poor rating

Options
Hi all .

As most younger years was a rebal now trying to rebuild my credit rating.

I have had a capital one card for 8 months 200limit always paid it in full normally within a few days of using it.

I asked them to review my account after 8 months said was unable to increase limit which is in find strange no late payments or anything.

I havery one ccj against me from Halifax which I am trying to sort £728 to where I went overdrawn when was out country by 42 pound the rest is there ridiculous charges. Have offered to pay them from start but wiLloyd not pay nearly 700in charges as diabolical.

Never had credit clearly reason been is don't need it but would like to build rating up .

All utiling bills etc never a missed payment always in credit with them .

Any tips

  • Keep using the Cap One card , clearing in full each month when you get the statement.

    Settle the CCJ.

The only other thing you need is time.
  • I have been doing just that spending around 400 on my capital one card every month 100 at a time give it few days phone and pay in full and repeat.

I am looking into disputing bank charges and getting it marked as settled but not sure if I can get it marked as settled if I donthink pay full and only the agreed settlmant figure

It's better if you wait until the statement arrives, then pay it in full. If you pay it off before the statement arrives, your credit file will look as though you're not using the card - so you're not getting the benefit of showing that you have a solid history of borrowing and repaying responsibly.
