Being chased by debt company for greek medical bill

I visisted greece corfu kavos in 2013, while on this holiday i suffered a head injury while at the water park. I was treated at a hospital while i was in greece and had holiday insurance to cover the injury.

I have now after 4 years been contacted by Eventus on behalf of the greek hospital asking for £1,600 in medical bills which my insurance have now apparently declined. While i was in greece i paid my excess for thr treatment and for them to allow me to leave the hospital as i decided to come back from my holiday early because of my injuries.

I have spoken to my insurance company which now don't use the company which i was covered from so have instructed me to contact them directly. I have donr so they never pick up the phone i have tried to call lots of times but no joy. I finally got an email back from them after waiting over 3 weeks for a response, they haven't proved much help they have asked for recipts of payment. As this was over 4 years ago i don't have these things as once i paid the excess i didn't expect all this time after to be chased for something which i believed was resolved.

I have read online lots of people being chased for very much similar debts from greece and the same debt collection company Eventus.

If someone could provide me with some help as I feel very stressed and don't know what more to do i had insurance i was covered and paid my excess I don't understand how now 4 years on something like this can happen.

From your account you seem to have made decisions without consulting the insurance company like returning home early and discharging yourself from hospital. Did your insurance deal with these claims four years ago? If so, the fact they no longer use this hospital is irrelevant - the latest bill is an extension of your original claim.
