Car Parking ticket - wrong reg on ticket

Hi,
I've read a few places about people who have had wrong car registration numbers written on their ticket - I have a similar issue...
Was just after 18:30, dark and weather was really bad and was in a rush, thought I had parked okay - didn't even notice it was private land.
When I returned had a ticket under the wiper 'Parking charges notice'. I believe it is a private company 'Parking and Property Management'. They asking for £100 and if I pay within 14 days it will be £60.
As it was still raining really hard...I jumped in the car and read the actual ticket when I got home (I don't live local to the area).
I noticed that the ticket had a digital missing for my car registration.
It says on the ticket pictures can be viewed and will be uploaded upto 24hours after ticket issue. I logged in to the website (using the incorrect registration) no pictures just yet (it has only been a few hours) but on their system online it also says the incorrect reg.
As it is a digit missing - they won't be able to accidently forward a fine to someone else using dvla (if they are registered). I will try tomorrow evening to see if the picture has been uploaded, hopefully it isn't clear.
My question is:
As they issued me with a notice that incorrect, does it still stand?

it may not do, but its only an invoice anyway, nothing special
wait and see if the RK gets an NTK in the post between day 29 and day 56 (or later)
if they do, check that VRM and ensure its the correct vehicle0 -
they will have taken photos ,
they tell lies
do not contact them , IF your v5 is correctly registered to your own address (not lease/hire car) sit back and await paperwork
retain the window ticket , it will help you0 -
Redx:
Thanks for your reply, I am new to the driving world so I have no idea what RK or NTK is? Sorry if it is something obvious.
So I should just wait it out, I was thinking that utility I got this feeling in my.gut saying: if I wait over 14 days. It's a £100 gone.
The number of days you.mentioned was very specific- if they don't manage to get me a correct notice to pay after day 56 - does that invalidate their claim or something?
Redx and twhitehousescat:
Will they not use the photo (if they have one) to double check once they realise it is an invalid reg?
Thanks in advance guys.0 -

YES !!! and the fact that the ticket you have is different to the next letter (Notice to keeper) will assist you a lot
just hope the muppets kodac had run out of film
dont contact them at all providing your V5 is registered in YOUR name and not a lease/hire car0 -
If the ticket on the car and the notice to keeper (NTK) do not match they cannot hold the keeper liable for any charge, guess they will not match but they will try it on. Never say who was driving and edit any posts to say the driver did this that or the other.0

I agree with the others. Sit tight and wait for the NTK next month which will not match (if they serve one at all) and therefore it will fail under Schedule 4 of the POFA.
Be aware this will not kill it on appeal, they will reject anyway as all IPC members are wont to do, regardless of facts, it seems. And IAS is not worth trying so you will get hassled by letters and maybe a claim later on. But that is NOT a reason to panic or pay.
Wait and see. Maybe nothing will follow, some are cancelled behind the scenes at the outset.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

and acronyms are explained in the NEWBIES sticky thread
RK = Registered Keeper = the person named on the V5C at the DVLA
this person may be the owner , may be the keeper, but is certainly the one who was registered at the DVLA as RK
NTK = Notice To Keeper - the postal notice sent to the person named on the DVLA V5C when the parking company accessed their database on the appropriate day (usually - which is between day 29 and day 56 , but could be later and must not be earlier)0
