Why Do Ebay Let Sellers Do It ?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/128GB-Max-MicroSD-Card-free-Adapter-For-SmartphonesTablets-Cameras-PC-PDA-/272517722501?hash=item3f73527185:g:MCQAAOSwa~BYdWuJ

Not me, I know someone who has bought one. Seller will refund if returned. Loads of positive feedback for them as they only see what their computer etc sees, do a full check and they are only 8GB as stated in the listing !

I only buy cards from recognised sellers for this reason.

Same here, I used yto buy from Play.com. They were generally cheaper than elsewhere. But when they changed to Rakuten it became a nightmare.

1 seller had something like 8000 SD cards listed for a single size, 8000 4Gb cards 8000 8GB cards etc. Obviously fake but you couldnt find the genuine listings so i stopped using them.

I will only buy from genuine UK shops. Worth paying a little extra for a genuine item.

Had someone pass me a 64GB card they formatted and it was now showing as 4GB. 4GB was the correct size.

Sick of all these Chinese fakes.
This is why I will now only use Amazon supplied [not fulfilled by] or 7Dayshop
  • Claim to be say 64Gb and format as such but never hold more than 4Gb of data before failing
i.e. were 4Gb cards with dummied size
I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.

This card showed and formatted as 64GB and will allow 64GB of files to be written to it - it just overwrites !

You have to give them credit for the ingenuity. Who thought that one up? Take a small capacity card and rig the ID to show a higher one is one thing.

But to allow the OS to copy files to the higher capacity and overwrite the previous data. Clever.

It's even cleverer as a lot of people will buy a 64GB card and either:
    a) Not use it.
    b) Never put more than 4GB onto it.

Shroedinger's memory card? You're not sure what it is until you open the box.

As if any more evidence is needed, but a quick look shows it's run from a mobile phone shop called "Nine 2 Five Management Consulting Limited" which itself sets some alarm bells ringing. Facebook reviews (even including shills) are awful. Dubious history at companies house.

Perhaps the seller is a maths savant who can answer 6÷2(1+2) in 17 different ways.
