Best Appliances Neff or AEG

We are at the beginning of purchasing a kitchen from Wicks. They are doing offers of 15% off plus an extra 15% off on Neff production. Oven, Combi microwave, Induction hob, Dishwasher.

However found a site called avforums which basically slaughter Neff products.

Just wondered if anybody has an experience of either companies that they could recommend.

Items looked at so far:

Neff S51M66X0GB
Neff B57CS24N0B

Many thanks

  • I would not buy any other oven again, only Neff :)

We had our old oven for around 8 years until we sold our house last year and it still looked and worked like brand new. It used to clean up fantastic and it was well used as my OH loves cooking.

We have just put in a neff in our new house. The oven that was in was a Stoves and was awful in comparison.

I love Bosch dishwashers and Miele washing machines. We also had a fab Siemens american fridge freezer which never let us down. All still going strong in my old house and boy do I miss them. We only took the washing machine and are busy saving for a new dishwasher as the current indesit takes forever :)

    Just my experience.

    Xx

Had a Neff electric fan oven and gas hob in our previous house for ten years, when we moved into our present property eight years ago we had a new kitchen and chose similar Neff appliances and have never had any problems, given the choice we would certainly have them again.

We had AEG appliances and have NEFF now and certainly rate them as better.

Having had issues with the built in AEG appliances in our kitchen I wouldn't make any recommendation for buying them.

Would also say Neff over AEG. Nothing wrong with AEG mind, but Neff are a bit cleverer and their service in the event of any problems is generally far better.

We have a pair of Neff Slide & Hide ovens (one above the other) and are very pleased with them. I'm not very tall so Slide & Hide makes getting stuff in & out far easier & safer than a conventional oven door. I'd certainly go for Neff S&H again if I needed to replace them.

Our ceramic hob is an AEG & has given trouble-free service for 12 years

We've had a Neff gas hob and electric double oven for around 5 years now. My only slight grumble is that the larger oven of the two, which is a fan type, doesn't provide the even oven temperature you are led to expect with this type. Items are cooked hotter at the back - near the fan inlet. Probably a result of it being a smaller main oven - a larger one maybe wouldn't suffer from that.

Apart from that, well pleased. No experience of AEG cookers.

    Prefer Bosch over both personally
Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.
  • Do you mind saying why the preference for Bosch?

I've decided on Neff cooker for my new kitchen - but it's not "fixed in stone" yet as to which. The only definite decision re make is it's got to be German.
  • Disappointed with Neff oven temperature control. After a few overdone items I bought an accurate digital thermometer to check. If I set for 200 the actual temp can rise over 220. The front panel display still shows 200 and pressing the info button no longer shows actual temp (while warming up it will show actual temp). I guess the way it's supposed to work is: heat to 220 then turn off heating, let the temp drop to say 180 before turning on again so the average should be 200. In principle that might be ok but an on/off cycle difference of over 40 degrees is too much, a range of 195 to 205 might be better.
