Best Taxi App for London Travel

I'm going to London for a few days, going to be without a car, and was wondering if I need to get from London to Guildford just for 1-2 hours there - then I can take a train from Waterloo roundtrip for £13, and then I just need a taxi for a 1-2 mile drive each way back & forth.
I was wondering if there are any good Apps for this type of journey with taxi from the train station and then back?
Besides, would you rent a car if you come to London for a few days or perhaps a £13 train + £(??) Taxi should do the work if most of the time anyway besides Guildford would be a stay around London with quite good public transportation anyway?

Re-reading your post I'ma little confused - are you looking for taxi apps in London or Guidlford?
If London, Uber is the main player in this area - you won't wait more than a few minutes for an Uber driver in most parts of London, and you can just hail via the app when you want one.
Prices are usually very reasonable, but watch out for surge pricing at busy times. This can see your fare increase significantly - typically 1.3x-2x. I've found that hailing a black cab via Hailo tends to be cheaper when surge pricing is in effect.
If you want a third option, the Addison Lee app is ok and will give you fixed price rides, which neither Uber or Hailo will. If you're using it for a car ASAP then its time estimates tend to be optimistic, but it is good for pre-booked journeys.
There are other options such as Gett, but I haven't tried any of them myself. If I were you, I'd use Uber, with Hailo as a backup.0 -

Bear in mind UBER, like many tech companies don't pay much tax on turnover so if you want to support a company which doesn't help the country in general use them. If not use a conventional taxi/private hire companyANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.0

You can get a £20 Uber credit if you google the route on your phone and then click on the taxi symbol0 -

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Guildford, so I don't know about this. Uber might work - Guildford is close enough to London that you might get some Uber drivers in the vicinity. That said, I'd be looking to get the number of a reliable local minicab firm, too.0
