Got a fax machine which has only been used a few times in the late 90s. Been in storage since. Is there a need for faxes these days? Nowadays its email attachments pdfs etc. Shall I keep it or bin it? If bin who can I pass it to so they can make use of it?
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

I don't know if anyone would want it, but you could offer it for donation via the site below (so a "good cause" can benefit from it).

  • Sorry, but the reality is that there is no practical use for a fax machine in 2017 :) Anecdotally I bought one for home use back in the mid 90s thinking it was quite cool to have one and that it would get lots of use. How wrong I was! it probably got used 3 or 4 times over as many years - last use 20+ years ago! No, I don't have it anymore :) Sorry to say this, but the most realistic option is to take it to your local electronics recycling centre. I doubt most charity shops would want it as they would recognise they would struggle to sell it, and most people on Freegle would have the same point of view about it having on practical use.
  • fax machines were good , we had one at an off licence and a "tame" , ie give him £5 at the cash n carry , used to fax an order thru and he would do the picking , , we just popped in and paid and loaded , instead of wasting hrs

Metal/Wee skip at your local council tip - they'll recycle it for free, assuming it's not commercial waste ;-)

Apparently, they could make a comeback while we have a Government that spies on everyone....They say that the message cannot be intercepted, so is more secure than other forms of communications....

    Otherwise.....just get rid.....;)

  • We got rid of ours at work in the end. Less and less requests and it was just powered all day for no reason. We recycled it as WEEE with the rest of our electrical waste. Not sure even a charity would take it nowadays?
