I have been with Scottish power a bout 5 years and I think this has been the wrong way round all that
time, will I get a huge bill.....
anybody got any advice please, can't ring them till tomorrow to find out.

What do your paper (or online) bills say?
If the OP can prove that also Scot Power meter readers messed it up then they may knock something off for goodwill. Also Scottish Power have always ignored any of what they think of the UKs OFGEM rules in actually obtaining a physical reading every two years but as usual the Spanish make their own rules up and do what they want and ignore OFGEM0
