Financial unlinking

Can I financially unlink myself to my husband?

Comments

  • If you have no joint financial products , you can file a notice of disassociation.
  • Thank you. The only info I could find online seemed to relate to after a separation. We are very much together but my credit rating is low and the only reason I can come up with is because of him (self employed, only been paying himself 6 months, a lot of debt)

Just to point out, if you've never had any joint accounts with him then you won't have a financial association to begin with. It's not clear from your post whether you have or not.

If you sign up to one of the free credit tools online (Clearscore, Experian or Noddle) then it's possible to see if you've a financial association on their respective websites.

It must've been ten years ago (if not longer) but I applied for an M&S Bank credit card with my then-partner. Although the application was declined it still created a financial association which I had removed by contacting all three credit agencies.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

It could be the reason or maybe not.

Who says your credit rating is low ?

Did the CRAs explain why they allowed a bogus financial link to be created in the first place?
