Faulty Product Refund

I bought my son a bed frame, mattress and headboard from 'Dreams' about 24 months ago. I paid on credit card. The bed frame cost £399 on its own.
I also took out an insurance of these at the time. I don't usually do this, but as he is 6' 5" and about 20 stones we thought it prudent.
The bed frame has now failed within 12 months of purchase. 'Dreams' tried to repair it but it failed again. They have now accepted that it is a manufacturing fault. The bed frame is no longer available, so they have offered £399 to purchase a new bed frame from 'Dreams'.
However, they say "Please note that your current guarantee does cease with this claim, however you can if you wish to purchase a new BedCover to cover your replacement bed frame."
I do not think that we need to make a claim on the insurance.

You don't but if you go down the route of trying to get a resolution under your consumer rights, you may well end up worse off.

Under these rights, Dreams can repair, replace or refund and it they decide to refund, the amount offered does not have to be the full price you paid. They are entitled to make a deduction to cover the time that you have had use of the bed frame.
You would probably be best to accept the £399 credit and choosing a new frame and then making a choice as whether or not to take out new "Bedcover".

I've re-read this a few times  maybe I'm not fully awake yet.
