American Express' Travel Cover?

What exactly does it cover?

I've kind of seen the adverts over the last few years and they are forever promoting that they can find you a doctor who speaks English wherever you are in the world. That in itself is a good promotion.

However, I was looking at the various AMEX cards last night (I'm not planning to apply for one any time soon, but I was curious) and I was looking at their Green Card at £60 per year, or their Gold Card at £140 per year, noticing that they offer 'Travel Accident Cover' which in the terms and conditions, sounds like it just offers cover for if you're injured on the journey to your destination? Is this so?

I've always thought they offered full on travel insurance but I'm assuming I'm wrong now. But I was thinking that I travelled quite a lot last Summer and must have spent over £100 on travel insurance overall. Suddenly £60 a year for a Green Card, if it offers travel insurance, doesn't seem all that bad :rotfl: I'm currently using the Barclaycard Freedom Rewards credit card in which I am getting the benefits from, I'm almost at my second £25 iTunes voucher with them which I find good that I've earned this from just my general spend. Although from what I see from users on here, they seem to get more benefits from AMEX.

Like I said above, I'm not planning to apply any time soon, as many of you know, I've had too many credit searches towards the end of last year and I've stopped looking for a change of credit. Although I am considering it in maybe 12/18 months time. But if they don't offer travel insurance then I probably won't ever apply, the annual fees probably aren't worth it for me.

So what kind of travel cover do they offer?
