Anyone had problems with IKEA fitted kitchens

We planned to have an Ikea kitchen fitted last June. Due to incorrect deliveries, fitters not fitting to plan it took 3 months to get right and disrupted most of summer holidays. The cost of kitchen and fitting was over 8k which we have taken on finance. It was a big financial investment for us and we wanted it to be right. I wrote to them fully explaining everything that happened and the disruption it caused. After months of waiting for them to reply i received an email yesterday offering a sum to cover our 'minor issues'. When you think how many days you waste getting the mistakes put right and waiting for deliveries it doesn't feel right. Just wondered if anyone else has had any experience of dealing with their customer service dept.

Thanks

When I've had to sort any issues - usually minor - with Ikea, they have been more than fair in their recompense.

If you are able to quantify any ACTUAL financial loss, by taking additional days off work, or having to loose use of facilities, while things were not as they should have been, then you'd need to identify this precisely.

That would need things to have been done wrongly, or damaged during instalation, or when delivered, rather than it just taking longer than expected.

Plus ALL would have to be down to something other than problems arising which were an issue with the building, or services themselves.

Deends as well, what you are expecting.

Maybe give us an idea of what your not happy with, to see if other Moneysavers agree?

There were a lot of things wrong. Quick summary.
Fitters put corner cupboard next to cooker hood and ignored spacer so door wouldn't open properly. We compromised and dropped the cooker hood lower than cupboard yo save them ripping out cooker hob cupboards wall panels and work top. Not sure if we did the right thing now and making do with the compromise. We just wanted to get it over with.
Fitters didn't measure the fridge freezer unit, tall cupboard and boiler and washing machine cupboard correctly so when washing machine door put on it wouldnt open as it caught on windowsill and skirting board. They had to shave 3cm of the window sill and remove the skirting board. We couldn't live with that so we had to wait 2 months for them to come back and move the 3 cupboards a few cm to left. We had to buy new skirting board and repair our window sill. Couldn't stock up fridge and freezer cos we didn't know when they were coming to move the units.
The incorrect wall panels were delivered 3 times. The kitchen fitters wouldn't come back to make amends until correct wall panels arrived.
We couldn't have our new floor fitted until it was all complete so we had unsealed floor for 3 months.
    Other bits and bobs.
