Hi
I think I know what I need to do so probably more looking for some reassurance!
Today I received a letter from Moorcroft Debt recovery regarding a debt of £812 I apparently have with Lloyds Bank Plc.
I have had letters from Wescott (another debt recovery agency) about this debt in the last few months, and I sent a "prove it" letter as I genuinely have no knowledge of this debt. Got a letter back from them saying provide us with your details etc so have subsequently ignored any other letter from them.
Anyway, this letter today from moorcroft refers to a default being registered on my file. I created a noodle account a few months ago and up until accessing it today, always had excellent credit rating.
So, on accessing it today, I know seem to have 4 defaults on my file, all credit cards. The name is the same as mine apart from I am a Ms and this name is a Mrs. The address is one I have never lived at and is actually near Glasgow and I live on the east coast of Scotland, nearly 100 miles away. The DOB is also different. I checked other info on my file so the address was linked to me and was placed there a few days ago, obviously by Lloyds Bank as well as the other defaults from Bank of Scotland, Home retail group, and Arrow Global (which seem to be a debt agency also!).
The Lloyds Bank default has my address against it and not the Glasgow address, unlike the others so assume this is why I've been getting the debt agency letters.
I have disputed all the information via Noodle so I await them to come back to me but meantime, I feel I need to be doing something else.
I have googled this person and have found a record in a phone book for them so they do exist so I'm thinking is this an error or is this ID theft?
If it is ID theft, sould I report to the police now or see what the various banks come back with via Noodle?
I appreciate any advice/guidance

What do the reports from the other 2 agencies show you ? Could be the same but no harm in checking them out, you can also inform the other 2 of the inaccuracies.0
