DRP recovery letter

Hi,
Apologies if protocols not followed 1st time posting on here. My son has just received hate mail from Debt Recovery Plus about an alleged overstay at a car park run by G24. He has not had anything at all from G24 themselves. The (alleged) overstay was dated 19/08/2016 so nearly 6 months ago but no details about what time it occurred and they are demanding £150.00 which he obviously has no intention of paying. I have spent all morning trawling through this forum but with so much info to go at we are just getting lost on what to do next. Do we contact these people or do nothing. It would be a big help if somebody could point us in the right direction. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for the quick reply. The point I cannot find any info about is the fact that we did not receive anything at all from G24 so de we ignore them as well. Apologies if I seem ignorant but there is a massive amount of information even in the newbies section alone without looking at other posts and I have been looking for 4 hours now to try and make sense of what to do next if anything regarding G24 not even notifying us of the penalty charge

There is nothing stopping the vehicle keeper from making an appeal to G24, stating that since the debt crawler letter is the first they have heard about it, then it is assumed to be the notice to keeper.

Use the IPC template from the NEWBIES thread, add wording as above, and also add that the NTK is outwith the POFA 2012, so they should cancel.

No doubt it will be rejected, but the keeper can show they made a reasonable attempt to sort out the problem despite the scammers' unreasonable behaviour, should it ever get to court.

The point is, that it's gone well pass the G24 stage so no appeal. But Fruitcake has a good pont above, that is worth a try only as the keeper

You will continue to receive stupid letters from DRP with the threat levels getting higher.

DRP have no power as this is between G24 and the registered keeper
so all DRP can do is give up after wasting so much time, is pass it back to G24 who may in the months ahead try a "pop" at court.

G24 are not the smartest company operating so do a google search "g24 lose in court" .... some great reading is available.

In the meantime, just in case G24 try on their tricks which is doubtful, start putting a case together regarding the circumstances, the signs if they comply, get pictures etc.

Then, if they do decide to persue, you will get a LBA (letter before action) which will probably be their last attempt to scare.
Thereafter, if you get an actual claim come back here and the brains on here will assist you.

They might use two solicitors, being Gladstones or BWLegal.
Both of these are incompetent.
The brains on this forum are far superior to either of those.

Do not be tempted to talk to DRP or G24 and NEVER NEVER say who the driver was
