Shocking DD change by Scottish Power

I am stuck with Scottish Power on their Beat Breast Cancer December 18 Tariff and today I submitted my readings for the last two months, only for them to put it straight onto my account, and put me into debt. They then told me they are going to change my direct debit from March. How can they do this and allow me to get into debt? I dare not tell BoPsie about this change in DD amount. I am going top keep it to myself I think and liquidate the £22 a month reduction to £63 a month inn the Bridge!

Previous DD £85
New DD £63
Debt £26.37

Happy Days!

Err .. if that is a fixed tarrif then you are most likely in debt at this time of year like the rest of us in the winter and in credit in the summer

I had thought that Scottish Power had got over their billing problems. They should not be reducing a direct debit at this time of the year.April in the spring review is the time to establish a true direct. You may live in Scilly Isles tho where its milder !

If you think the new DD payment being requested is unfair, then this MSE article wiull help you fight back.

It's aimed at those who think they are being charged too much, but equally applies if you think you are being charged too little.
  • Just checked. Debt is £26.37. New payment is £63. Happy days! Kerching.

Well actually on my SP account, I can alter the DD amount, if I don't agree their revision. As I keep analysed records over a long period, I do just that.

I would not recommend for anyone, who is cavalier with their record keeping.
  • Just checked again with updated readings.

They wanted to lower it to £61. I said yes!

    Happy days!
