Hello Suffolk Lass
I am back on the boards now after an absence. I used to read and post on your diary and its lovely to catch up.
It's funny how things change in a short space of time. When I first followed, I think I skipped through some of the pension stuff, I probably didn't understand it and retirement felt a long way off. Now I lap this stuff up, and its only 4 years on.
Re gynaecological issue and not realising how consuming it is, I can vouch for that. I ended up having a TAH in June and its only now I realise how bad things had got. In that sense, I feel liberated. I wish that for you too.

Glad your health issues are sorted, that can take up all kinds of energy x4

Thank you everyone and welcome back @boxofpaws. Gosh that is major stuff. I hope you are recovered, it takes a while! Mine was HRT related, with the air-gap caused by pandemic pause triggering symptoms unexpected in someone in their early sixties!
This morning's news is another £25 PB win (yay) - fourth one this calendar year. I remain convinced that the NSB should change from the £1mx2 prizes to 40x£50k prizes. I feel the £1m prizes are a little out of their time. I also get my pension today (a day early as tomorrow is Saturday).
Today we are delivering lunch for 40 in the Village. We are doing a buffet but instead of letting them queue up and get too close, we are setting up tables of 8 and will put platters out for them to help themselves within tables. A mix of hot and cold savoury things, then a potted dessert (ready made things like profiteroles or Creme Caramel), plus cheese, mince pies, tea, coffee and a pay bar. £3.50 a head, it should be good!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

The village lunch sounds awesome! How does one get invited?Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
3.50? Wow - I thought a 3.99 meal deal from b00ts was a good deal!

Well we catered for 40, with 38 booked, but lost two to Covid infection, two to quarantine, one to illness on the day and one to a hospital appointment (takeaway in his case) - one of the helpers suggested we had much too much food, but we were putting buffet platters on every table of 8 so there was always going to be "that" table that did not touch the salad/coleslaw/spicy dip/cold meats and baked cold snacks! Actually, my prediction that it would resemble a swarm of locusts proved to be the closer prediction and everything except a bit of bread and cheese, some cold meats, a bit of salad and one or two sandwiches went. All the hot food went! Mini roasties, sausages, chicken, sausage rolls. We left the leftovers for the event in the evening and they polished it off!
As for the puddings... at least five people asked me where I bought them - they were Morries little Profiterole pots, Tiramisu, Creme Caramel and Limoncello desserts plus homemade mince pies with a crumble topping. I got the desserts when I saw they were on offer for £1 for a pack of two. I bought 20 packs!
Today we are wreath-making (2 sessions, morning and afternoon) and I shall be making Mimosa cocktails to cheer things along!
I must dash as I have to clip some garden foliage; Rosemary, Euonymus (cream and green) and collect my Christmas Tree off-cutsSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
