Student Account - under 18

A nephew is starting Uni this autumn. He has an unconditional offer and was looking to get started on getting things organised - starting with a student account.
However, all the accounts seem to insist on being 18 but his 18th is not until 29th August - just days before he will have to sign his tenancy agreement for Halls etc. This is going to cause a few problems with not being able to confirm bank accounts etc until more or less the start of term. Anyone any ideas if there is a way to manage this?
