Hi all, I'm in a bit of a quandary and hoping some of you can help me out a wee bit.

OK I am on BT Baisc at a cost of £15 a quarter, and have been using it for a while and normally spend about a tenner on phone calles every quarter, so that's £25 with BT, always wanted to VOIP as it seems free or very cheap (or so i thought) but never gone down that route as my ISP and local area are pants 200k upload, 4 mbit down, but i'm using 2 ISP's right now PlusNet on my phone line at about £13.50 a month but speed is rubbish due to how far away i am from exchange, but i'm also using a London based 4G network called Relsih.net at £20 a month but does give me speed of 28mbit down right now and 6mbit upload, so massive increase and i suspect i will stay with them.

This means i can do away with my BT line if i want to, if i do go down this route any idea what my option are, should i go the VOIP route or maybe keep the BT line and use indirect access which i do when i call Aus by using 0844 calls.co.uk

I hope i have made myself clear after all it is 3am

The BT Basic tariff has recently changed. Are you aware of those changes?

    not too clear.

    1) I don't know why you have 2 ISP's on 2 land lines ?

How about getting rid of plusnet and using the bt basic broadband in the link above ?

At the price of basic it's almost worth having.

    2) Do you have a mobile phone. Consider getting a "sim only" deal.

for £5/month with plusnet you can have 250 minutes a month
for £6/month with virgin you can have 300 minutes a month.
    BT also does them.

They get expensive if you go over that limit.

    I don't.
I have BT line (BT Basic) and from that comes plusnet the other isp is 4G, so you can have broadband and no landline if you wish and that is my issue, should i keep bt basic (i know about max £10 limit) and use some kind of 0844.calls.co.uk kind of option, or should i look at VOIP options now i have an ISP that can give me a decent speed.

    Inclusive calls usually cover:
    - UK geographic numbers starting 01 and 02
    - non-geographic numbers starting 03.
    They may also cover:
    - UK mobile numbers starting 071-075 and 077-079.
Calls to landline and mobile numbers in CI and IoM are usually excluded.

Calls to numbers starting 080 and 116 are free-to-caller on landlines and mobiles.

Numbers starting 070, 084, 087, 09 and 118 are premium rate. These calls incur an Access Charge and a Service Charge. Except for 070, these elements are separately declared.

Some providers offer various discounts or packages for calls to 0845 and 0870 numbers or to 084 and 087 numbers, often with a lot of small print and various exclusions. Where non-inclusive, check the Access Charge rate. This is set by the caller's provider and can be up to 55p per minute. The Service Charge is set by the service provider and their telecoms provider and advertised by the service provider.
