Variation to C100

I am the NRP. I have a C100 in place to see my teenage son every other weekend and for a week in the summer and xmas.
My ex, following a long pattern of abusive and difficult behaviour uses the C100 to attempt to prevent any reasonable flexibility.
Eg, occasionally asking to swap a single weekend (on my part) leads to a tirade of abuse and accusations. However it is particularly bad if I dare to take a holiday without my son - this will most often run from weekend to weekend and so breach the C100 without her consent. It also precludes taking any kind of longer trip.
I am considering seeking a variation to the C100 to remove the "mandated" week in the summer. My intention is still to have my son for a week (at least) in the summer as all arrangements allow for extra time by mutual consent - and she will want me to have him.
The function of removing this as a mandated week is simply that it will mean my ex will have to be reasonably flexible when I propose a holiday date (with lots of notice) as she too will need my flexibility in order for me to have my son for a week in the summer so that she can have time off by herself for a holiday.
I am not attempting to right wrongs or discuss morality here, I think that would be pointless, simply to understand the legal possibilities and process.
Many thanks,
R
