Opening a new credit card whilst abroad

in Credit cards
Hi,
The interest on my credit card is about to increase from 0% to 15.7%. I would like to get a new 0% credit card and make a balance transfer to save money on interest. However, I am currently in Canada and will be until May.
I still have an address in the UK, so I was wondering if there are any credit cards I could open online whilst I am abroad.
Thanks and all the best,

If your UK address is valid and can be electronically verified during an online application and credit check, I don't think your geographic location will prevent you from applying for any card. Making arrangements for producing any documentary proof and receiving the card etc are presumably possible for you.Evolution, not revolution0

Any online address will track an IP address - will this show that you are not in UK?0

If they ask "Are you a UK resident?" and you answer "Yes" you're committing fraud.
Take from that what you will.0 -

That's a little harsh. You can be legally resident in the UK and outside the UK at the same time, you know. Just need to be in the UK for at least 183 days a year to pass the simplest test for legal residency.0 -

Totally agreed, but I would still be careful as banks will see from your IP address that you're applying from abroad. Not an exact equivalent, I know, but Tesco bans customers from accessing their club card account from abroad...0
