Is it wise to apply for another credit card to spread a balance transfer across?

I just applied for an mbna credit card as I wanted to switch my balance from my Barclaycard which I'm now paying interest on as I didn't switch in time. I've been accepted but my new credit limit doesn't cover the amount I want to transfer - should I apply for a second credit card to transfer the rest or should I just lump the fees on the smaller amount now left on my Barclaycard?
Thanks in advance for your help!

You will have to wait maybe 6 months before applying for another card0

Yes apply for a second card, if unsuccessful then leave it for six months.0
