The banks.
They don't require staff accounts because they can use them to sidestep credit checking rules, they do it to save money and potentially keep tabs on their employees.
I suspect that, given the requirement to go through a third party checking service to lookup up your credit history, they can obtain the full report because you have given them permission to do so.0 -
I had to go through the SC checks for work relating to a project we took up, it's the same sort of thing to look at our financial history to see if you could be bribed or coerced into doing stuff with money if you are in financial trouble. No-one could say for sure what they'll do but if you were struggling for money then it would be more of an issue than a cleared default and an arrangement for the other though the fact it's still running 5 years later and you still owe money would make me think it would be better to prepare for the worst and maybe it won't happen
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I work in a bank and I was not required to open up a bank account with them, however I am subject to full credit checks and criminal record checks on an annual basis.0

Still none the wiser at the moment. They got in touch on Monday to ask for the summary sheet on my credit report to confirm that it was my details for their records and I've heard nothing since.
They advise that the vetting checks can take between 10-15 working days so I'm hoping I'll be put out of my misery by next weekend.0
