Car accident
Options
I was pulling out of a parking space . The car in front and to the left was stationery. I stopped and was waiting for her to go. She then reversed at slow speed into me. I pressed my horn and braced for impact. The young lady then got out her car all apologetic and said sorry I didn't see you there. "I was trying to get out of the way of a car in front of me who didn't quite make thier turn" she said. The damaged to both cars was minor. Scratches & hers had a bust light. We then swapped details. I didn't get any witnesses because I was more concerned for my 2 young children in the back. I then told my insurance what happened. I paid my £150 excess and my bumper was sorted. 3 months later my insurance company has informed me she initially accepted liability but has now changed her mind. How can this be. !!! I don't understand. There's now talk of it going to court but I can't be bothered with the hassle even though I know I did nothing wrong and she reversed into me. What happens now ?????. Any advice would be great full of what happens or what I should do.. thanks.

We had a similar situation that incredibly went in our favour - I've no idea how.
My wife and another driver were reversing out of a parking space and hit each other. Both called their own insurance companies and the mutual outcome was that the other driver was at fault - we didn't push for it and there were no witnesses.
I think you'll just need to let your insurance company do their best to argue your case.0 -
If you want your excess back (and any lost NCD) and the claim on your record changing from fault to no fault then assist your insurer by going to court if that proves nrcessary0

Was more confused how she can accept liability but then change her mind... how can she be at fault but then suddenly not !!0

Another good example of why it pays to have a dashcam.0

That's down to the insurer.
All insurance policies have a condition that you must not accept liability.
(The courts take little or no notice of acceptance of blame/liability at the scene)0 -
Apparently the insurance company accepted initial liability but have since changed thier position.0

They always do! I was hit from behind at about 40mph whilst I was not moving, waiting for traffic lights on the dual carriageway to change.
The guy admitted fault at the scene (tired, dozed off at wheel), but when it went through the insurance, all of a sudden I get a letter saying they are not admitting liability.
Obviously they were implying that I had been reversing at 40mph the wrong way up a dual carriageway...
It was then changed to at fault again!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
