Today I'm trying the Suzuki Vitara.
I'd be interested on you opinion of that, but your not supposed to try the 1.4 as its so good you will want it - and its only available on the most expensive version!

The Kia garage took my details. And me and my fella too it out.
The vw sales nam drove me somewhere and then allowed me to drive back. I refused the second test drive - as he was a plank who wouldn't give me figures and his sales technique was to slate the Toyota I was interested in.
The Toyota sales man wanted me to go out alone. If he came and I had an accident he had to cover the excess.
They all took my licence details.

I am trying the 1.6 petrol.
I love Matt's car reviews, they always make me laugh! But full of useful info (as it should be) too!
I'll let you know what i think!0 -
My history that I can remember
Looking for first car, Toyota garage in Sheffield just took license details and gave me the keys - I was 20 or so and hadn't driven for a couple of years while at uni. I seem to remember looking at the MG ZR but they wouldn't do a test drive and might have tried something else as well at the time
Second car - Peugeot - got an ex demo or whatever from the company's staff sales thing as a favour due to a contact I had, that was just driving around the car park in Coventry.
My current one, Mazda 3, dealer took me around a bit then I had a go on some quiet roads and a 70 stretch as the dealer was on an industrial park so it was well setup for a loop. Another one I tried was straight off the lot with me driving, I think he was trying to sell it as a racer - Skoda Octavia VRS but that was more of a built up area
With regards to the "push" - my other half tested one and opted for a bigger engine as the demo one didn't really have the umph for safe overtakingSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Yes, it's the oomph to overtake that i need. I am hoping that i can get that with the 1.6 petrol engine.0

Update:
I love the Vitara! Great visibility out the back which is something the Nissans weren't great for. Lots of leg room in the back seats for the boys.
Nice size boot, and nice tech!
The only drawback was the cheap looking plastics in the cabin, but to be honest i am not too bothered by that. It was really lovely and smooth to drive too.0
