EDF refusing to repay credit after switch from prepay meter to credit meter.

We changed from BT to EDF in October las year (2016), there was no debt on the meters at change over.
Last night we received our final gas statement from EDF for the pre-payment meter, it sows that we pre-paid total credit of £375 for the 100 days from changeover from BG to EDF, whilst at the same time we actually used £267.77 in total (gas, daily charge, and VAT). Today we have spent time on the phone with EDF trying to get the credit of £107.23 refunded. What a waste of time.
EDF are saying that the initial estimated reading at changeover was wrong and that we have used the £107.23 in gas. EDF are saying the statement they sent out is 'ficticious'. ('Ficticious' is a word I have found today that EDF like using.)
EDF it would seem are saying that there statement is 'ficticious' because the original estimated reading must have been erronious. It is an estimate they made, indeed the amount of credit that was on the prepaid meter at time of changeover from BG to EDF was circa. £7. This would indicate that the EDF meter was eroniously set therefore building up such a huge credit. Unfortunately EDF have their pat answers and do not respond to logic. I am now awaiting a call back from an EDF supervisor or manager thaat I have been promised will occur within the next 4 hours.
How many other people I wonder do they try to get away with this on?

Well, within minutes (about 20 minutes) of me starting this thread I have just received a telephone call and the matter has been fully resolved with EDF. :T
We now await the promised cheque.0 -
Congratulations!
Very similar to my own experience with them, which I mentioned in this forum a week or so ago. Though they promised to send a cheque it hasn't arrived yet... but a copy bill has!
I don't trust them, their attitude seems bullying to me.0 -
I've been with EDF for years, any small problem I've had has been resolved within minutes .
Excellent customer service and the bonus is a freephone numbermake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

To bring this thread up to date I can now report that this morning I have received a cheque from EDF for the whole amount disputed for unused gas, namely £107.23. :j0
